This little autograph page contains the signatures of a Tony and Emmy-winning actor, another actor who was nominated for a Tony and two principals from a wildly popular Depression and World War II era radio show. All these actors were active either in radio, the American stage or early talkie movies. Lunt won a Tony for directing in Ondine (1955) and two for acting in The Visit (1959) and Quadrille (1970), a Special Award shared with his wife, Lynn Fontaine, as well as an Emmy for the 1950 Hallmark Hall of Fame production of The Magnificent Yankee. He was also nominated for an Oscar for acting in The Guardsman (1931). Director and critic Harold Clurman described Lunt as "universally acclaimed the finest American actor in the generation which followed John Barrymore". Lunt and Fontaine were also one of the greatest American acting couples. King (1897-1971) was born in Warwickshire, England and emigrated to America in 1921. He is one of only a few Broadway musical stars to be a noted Shakespearean actor. His roles were mostly confined to the stage and early TV. He created the role of Francois Villon in Rudolf Friml's The Vagabond King and later made his talkie debut playing that role. In 1970, he was nominated for a Tony for acting in A Patriot...
